the right question is . . .
"Why?"
I get asked the same question every week…
"How do you afford this life?"
But if that’s the question you’re asking — you have it all wrong.
Because when I was 17, my dad was going through his 14th round of chemo.
Hair falling out, skin that looked pale as freshly dried concrete.
Life at home was chaos: I was trying my best to stay busy, working 70 hours a week scrubbing fryers in the back of Chick Fil A.
Really, I only had one outlet: driving.
At first, I just drove around town. Then a little further. Then a little further than that.
And before I knew it, I was sleeping across the back seat of my truck in the woods of Kentucky.
I wasn’t becoming an influencer; I wasn’t crossing off my bucket list.
I was just trying to survive.
This exists because a small group of people decided this mission is worth funding. If that's you, join us:
As life got worse, short drives eventually became road trips.
And as it goes, road trips became adventures.
And those adventures saved my life.
But I never sat down and wrote a 10 year plan. And I never chose to quit my job and share my story in a YouTube video.
God just kept extending the road — every time I needed somewhere to go.
The real question isn’t how someone finds the courage to do something with their life – whether they quit their job, take a gap year, travel across the globe, get married, or start a business.
The real question is — what drove them to that point?
Because I know for me, and maybe for you, life has a way of sending us down a path far greater – and windy – than we could ever imagine.
But never forget:
A lot of people who do something great — do it because they have to.
See you Out There,
