Suffering is Good

There's few things in life people seem to abhor more than suffering.
You and I have been sold the promise of an easy life – that's the story of America in the 2000s, at least. But now it seems as though that promise will never come to fruition.
Which is for the best, because suffering is not only necessary – it is good.
In fact, suffering is the best thing to ever happen to me.
Coping with the reality of my dad dying while watching him suffer through terminal cancer was good for me.
And cuss words flying with tears dropping as I drove for hours through western Montana after hearing my mother cry as she told me over the phone that my brother had shot himself was also good for me.
That's a hot take in a world full of some young people who scream that suffering is bad, and some old people who say young people don't know what struggle is.
(Both are wrong.)
If someone you know is in the midst of their own fight, send them this video. May it get them through one. more. day.
